LOTE - Indonesian
At Lilydale West, our Language Other Than English (L.O.T.E.) is Indonesian. The children learn Indonesian from Level 1 (Prep) to Level 4 (grade 5 and 6). They attend classes in a stimulating and eye catching portable classroom. Part of the students Art lesson is also spoken in Indonesian.
In 1999, Lilydale West's LOTE/Art teacher won the State L.O.T.E. Teacher of the Year and the students won a highly Recommended in the State L.O.T.E. Promotion Awards. In 2002, they won 1st prize in the State L.O.T.E. Promotion Awards.
Songs, games, role plays, story writing and special events such as Indonesian Independence Day and Harmony Week are all part of the exciting Indonesian program at Lilydale West Primary School.
