Music
The Performing arts Program at Lilydale West Primary School encourages children to actively participate in Drama, Dance & Movement, Music & Singing and the creative and experimental use of tuned and untuned instruments. This program runs parallel with the Integrated Studies units in the classrooms.
We have a junior and senior choir and a well resourced, architect designed building to cater for the delivery of the program.
Our Level 4's are involved in 2009 in J Rock - a dance and story production encouraging creative choreography, dance, mime and backstage skills.
In the past we are very proud to be Grand Finalists in Wakakirri Story Dance - performing at the Vodaphone Arena in September 2004 and 2005 and 2006 productions. in 2007 our production was called "Who are the Real Heroes?" a performance which once again took us to the grandfinal. In 2008 our performance was about renewable energy sources and reducing global warming, once again a performance which took us to the grandfinal.
We have a large bank of costumes available for hire to local schools which can be used in numerous productions.
This school has a junior and senior choir. The choirs regularly perform at school functions and have performed with the EMR choir at Hamer Hall
