The Physical Education Program at Lilydale West Primary School is made up of the following key components:

Physical Education is an important aspect of the Curriculum at Lilydale West Primary School. We offer a comprehensive Physical Education and Sport Program across the school, with the establishment of healthy lifestyles being the focus.
v At the Prep level, the students participate in a 30 minute physical education class each week, as well as a Perceptual Motor Program session.
v In grades 1 & 2, the students participate in a 30 minute physical education class each week, as well as a sport session, involving the physical education specialist teacher and the classroom teachers.
v The students in grades 3 & 4, participate in a 1 hour physical education class each week, as well as a sports practice/games session.
v In grades 5 & 6, students are involved in a 1 hour physical education class per week, as well as compete in the Interschool Sports Program or take part in sports competition training. Sports include; cricket, football, netball, bat tennis, t-ball, volleyball, basketball, soccer.
In addition to these weekly sessions and classes, the students are offered many opportunities to develop their motor skills, fitness, social skills and understanding of health through physical education and physical activity. These include:
o PMP – Perceptual Motor Program (Prep)
o District Sports Carnivals – Cross Country and Athletics (Grades 3-6)
o House Athletics Sports Carnival (Grades 3 – 6)
o Active After School Sports Program
o Participation Athletics Carnival – Interschool (Grade 5/6)
